Living By Faith, Not By Sight

Living by faith, not by sight

"But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."

1 Timothy 6:11-12, 17-19

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14 NIV

When you look into the mirror, what do you see? Do you see flaws and imperfections, handicaps and disabilities, aging and the effects of sin; or do you see the face of God, in His perfection and holiness, awesome and untainted, with beauty and unlimited possibilities? You are in His image! You have been fearfully and wonderfully made and are pure beauty in God's eyes, His beloved child, whom He adores and cherishes like no other. He holds you in His hands and has His best in store for you, His abundance is waiting for you to grab onto.

Maybe for now you have physical, emotional, or mental challenges, but in eternity, with Christ, it will not be so. Look to the Cross and see what your suffering Savior has given freely unto you. Two scared hands and a wounded body, yet healing and life flow. Life eternal in perfection, and life to the full here now. Look into the mirror again, for you wear the face of Christ Himself.
